A political thriller based on actual events. The main character, Michał, lives in a provincial city. As a councilman and resident observing the incompetence of the authorities, he decides to enter politics and run for the mayor's office. Already during the election campaign he witnesses and learns about the illegal methods of politics. After a series of terrible events, including an attempt on his life, Michał loses his family, dignity and respect of his community. This destroys his marriage and almost leads to a divorce. His best friend turns out to be a traitor. However, Michał is strong and determined and refuses to give up.
